The Northrop Grumman X-47B, also known as Salty Dog, is an unmanned combat air vehicle (UCAV) designed for aircraft carrier-based operations. The X-47B is a tailless blended-wing-body aircraft capable of semi-autonomous operation and has successfully performed a series of land- and carrier-based demonstrations. On July 10, 2013, the X-47B had its big moment, it made two arrested landings on the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush after having made a 35-minute flight from the Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Maryland.
