Cool and Amazing brings together information about technology, gadgets, design, art and anything else affecting our everyday life.
We are inspired by future technology and the occasional amazing item that might impact our daily life.
CLIP — Continuous Liquid Interface Production — is a breakthrough technology that grows parts instead of printing them layer by layer. UV light triggers photo polymerization and oxygen inhibits it. By carefully balancing the interaction of light and oxygen, CLIP continuously grows objects from a pool of resin. CLIP is a chemical process that carefully balances light and oxygen to eliminate the mechanical steps and the layers.
Conventional 3D printers take several hours to print an object because they need to individually treat each new layer of material after it's put down so that the next layer can be put down on top of it. The new method is much faster because it works continuously, instead of in layers, eliminating this step. Link
